Weekend pics

Can you see all the stars?  Orion is right in the middle.
There is a "dusty star" in the lower 1/3rd of the page. This is actually Orion's Nebula.

What's the best religion for you?

I was surfing the web, and saw an ad that promised to find the best religion for you by taking an online quiz.   It asks if you are satisfied with your current religion and if not maybe you should take a test to see which is right for you.  Now, I know that most people would find this absurd, but I'm sure there are people out there they definitely try to find a religion that would fit their needs best instead of seeking the truth.  Even though this is funny, I think its an important thing to understand about our culture today, anything goes, as long as you are satisfied.

Here's the link:

In other news...
I have a big test tomorrow and I don't feel ready at all... so i'm off to study, but here are sompics from the last few weeks!

Some Pictures from the Museum of Natural Sciences.

Today in church we talked about God's glory, and how he has made creation so beautiful.  The sermon was about how we tend to stop at the beauty of our friends, family, art and nature, and not look beyond it.  God reflects himself in his creation, and he wants us not to merely enjoy it but to use it as worship and reflection of His majesty!

My money supporting Abortions abroad?

Today our new president revoked a ban on funding family planning and abortions to international organizations.  Basically we are going to resume funding to organizations that supports abortions and offering abortions as an option to pregnant women around the world.  I am no doubt pro-life, so this issue is easy to take a stand on from a moral issue, but I am also bothered by the fact that my money is going to support this in OTHER countries.  No doubt there is a sever lack of knowledge on conception and pregnancy in the world.   We as a world community need to step up and decide that abortion is not an option to this problem (*note that the vast majority of abortions are not in response to rape, disease, or incest).  We need to focus on pre-conception education and disease control issues.  It is a standard that we can set as a society without being afraid of taking away women's rights.  Abortion is not a woman's right.

Here is a quote from the article linked to below:
"Obama signed it quietly, without coverage by the media, late on Friday afternoon, a contrast to the midday signings with fanfare of executive orders on other subjects earlier this week"

I pray that God can save these children, and change people's hearts to see the error in this horrible practice.

Snow Day!

Boy am I glad that we came home early.  I had so much fun just sitting at home and playing with my neice and nephew.

Here is Kelcey before we went out in the snow.  Can you tell that her hands are shaking?  She got so excited about sledding!  When ever she gets excited about something now, she'll say a quick "Whoo!" and throw her arms up in the air.  Its hilarious.

They were fearless!

And I just really like this picture...  Dalton planning his assault...

I guess its back to the real world tomorrow!

Back from the mountains just in time for snow...

Here's just a few pics from Massanutten.  I'm very tired and going to bed with hopes of snow in the morning!!!

Alexis with an icicle
This deer was right on the side of the road and let us get with in a couple of feet of him.  He also agreed to a photo shoot.  This is his "crazy face".

All of us at the tubing park!

Massanutten

I'm at a ski resort in VA, and I have spotty internet.
Our condo is literally on top of a mountian.  I can't wait to get the full view in the morning!

Planes and Vampires

Amazing!  I'm sure you heard about this plane that landed in the Hudson river today.  Everyone survived!  Major props to God and the pilot!  I can't even imagine.

Photo shoot with mere.
This kind of reminds me of Victoria from the Twilight series.
I know, I'm obsessed.
Yet another picture to go in the tyler photo album.

Expect Something New

I've always had a hard time getting up and having time with God in the morning.  I don't know why because every time I do I end up having a better day, and I feeling closer to God.   Lately I feel like this has been on my heart.  The other day I was running out of the apartment and I was feeling the tug of God on my heart asking why I wasn't making time for him.  So I reached for my daily devotional and this is what I found....

I can't ignore that.  I think God just called me out.  Tomorrow He will be first.

Just to make His point clear, this was one of our verses at bible study tonight...
Except I might be a little rebellious, and even jealous of my time in the morning. But it's not my time ... its His.  I pray that He will help me make Him first in my day!

Goodnight!

Happy Birthday to James' Mom!

Basketball and Birthdays!

Kyle coaches a girl's basketball league. They did awesome today but lost by two points! At least, we were going to have a party later.

Happy Birthday Kyle!

Twilight...

Creapy moon picture reminds me of the awesome books I am reading. Yes... the Twilight series. Nothing captivates the mind like a good vampire love story. I saw the movie last week with my friend Mere (not really excited about it) and now I'm already on book two!

Sad, maybe, but I can't believe that Edward broke up with Bella! Off to read more...

Day One...

Hey to all my friends and family (and to people I don't know, but probably read your blogs too!) I'm really excited about starting this blog, and getting my hands on my new camera. I am waiting right now at my parents house for it to come via the UPS truck!

I've always wanted to blog, but I don't write "good". So I thought with the new addition to my life, the "Canon", (No, Erin and Jeremy did not have a baby), what a great time to start relaying my life to my faithful readers through images, not words! Hopefully this will be the longest post I have to write....

Oooo, I hear something outside...
False alarm, it wasn't the UPS truck, just a soccer mom in her mine's-bigger-than-yours SUV.

I hope this blog is a place for you to SEE what's going on in my life (if that interests you) and for me to track my progress on some long standing goals as follows:

2009 Resolutions:
1) Grow in my relationship with God
2) See real changes in my behavior and relationships with others because of #1
3) Get Healthy, not just loose weight!
4) Be more confident
5) Start taking dance classes again
6) Become a better photographer
.....
